Well, if everyone around you knows what you are doing is going to do irreparable harm to yourself, but you persist despite their warnings, what would you call it? Bull-headed, ignorant, arrogant, or stupid. Call it whatever you'd like (or don't call it anything at all). The marketplace is strewn with the corpses of companies that stuck to closely to an outmoded vision for too long.

Finish this sentence from Netscape:

It sure was _________ of us to think we could make money selling Web browsers for 5 years.

Maybe the most charitable word to use would be "idealistic."
