The major problem from a user's perspective, is to be able to sit at any strange workstation and get things done immediately, regardless of what strange, customized environment is being used.That's one view, and there are certainly situations where I would like to be able to work on my site with *just* a web browser.
But I also like having a connection between the web browser and apps on my desktop, so I can write longer pieces in a really good text editor instead of this piece of crap they put in web browsers.
