Another idea is to add an additional piece of metadata about the link, and then render that into the RSS instead of the <linktext>. So, to use an example from Scripting News, you'd have:<p> <pre> <link> <url><a href="http://discuss.userland.com/msgReader$4152<">http://discuss.userland.com/msgReader$4152<</a>;/url> <linetext>Last night I wrote</linetext> <title>Essay about my.netscape.com's license agreement

You have the inline style for Scripting News, and you have the stand-alone style for syndicators who may not use the entire context.
