In the future, yes .. but now no. In the future it is quite likely that most browsers will fully support XML, XSL, XLINK, X* , the list goes on, so the user knowing anything about her display will be entirely up to her.

As a side note, we will be allowing the user to select HTML OR XML output very shortly. I think a very important feature will be the XML output, and a well defined roadmap to the SE's GET or POST interface will allow intelligent agents to actually carry out searches for things they need. Should be an interesting time...
