- The sort of financial information you refer to is (in my experience) time-stamped and followed by an indemnification clause without fail.
- Much as it may bother a candidate to be endorsed by David Duke, said candidates know that having a "policy" banning endorsements by said bigot is silly - how could it be enforced?
Concerning Dave's point:
- Any institution which accepts a URL as sufficient "identification" to disclose personal financial information is laughably negligent, perhaps even criminally so.
