fwiw, I just bought a Dell that is working out of the box. It had NT Workstation installed. No fuss, no muss. And, thank goodness, no NT setup.

Well, a slight muss. The 3Com network card doesn't support AppleTalk, which I think is weird. My screw-driver shop P133 with the no-name NIC works with AppleTalk just fine.
