I heard a feature on Tuvan throat singing on Fresh Air on National Public Radio featuring one of the people in Genghis Blues. You can listen to it in RealAudio at <http://whyy.org/cgi-bin/FAshowretrieve.cgi?2674>I've also heard Tuvan throat singing used in a clothing commercial; Ross, Miller's Outpost -- something like that.
The whole thing is really quite bizarre. A particularly interesting fact is that some of the Tuvan singing styles are nearly identical to those of some American Indians. Listen to the show; you won't regret it!
