In poking around for a answers I discovered sql_bind, in concert with a generic XML-RPC<=>SQL gateway this has the possibility of building some truly baroque systems and the potential for some horrendous security nightmares [He said, with more than a small bit of admiration towards anyone who'd contemplate this...]
