Indeed it is. We do have several great non-chain bookstores here in Seattle (University Bookstore, Elliott Bay Bookstore, Magnolia's Bookstore, etc.), and would *love* to also claim Powell's but we can't, alas.

Just another great reason to drive down to the Sunny South and visit Portland periodically.
