Another example. In Phoenix at a party at Esther's, chatting with a famous venture capitalist.

"I read DaveNet all the time," he said.

"Glad to hear it" I responded. "How do you feel about software patents?"

"Absolutely necessary to protect innovative developers like yourself," he said.

"Are you aware that I am strongly against these patents?" I asked.

"I think you should write about that in DaveNet," he said.

"I have."

"Let's find out what Bill Joy thinks."
