First, is not an app. It is a company.Mea culpa
I don't doubt that there is a good chance they will make some headway in getting Linux "into the average user's home".
But good intentions aside, is having a nice interface going to chance Linux? Will Nautilus (or GNOME or KDE) make Linux easier to use for consumers?
