It isn't hard. The emulator is in a neat little package. Others have already put the ROMs online to download. Just about everyone I know who has the inclination to use/buy gameboys, uses the emulator rather than buy new games.(In general, there are a few exceptions).If it is made easy and practical, people can and will download infringing materials. Music, software, games, etc.
I'm not saying the market for IP based products will vaporize instantly, but it will be eroded. And it will increase with time, as more and more people get used to finding what they want on the internet.
