Totally on-point. The whole Linux thing is notable from a noise perspective, but the real future lies in companies like AOL, Sony, and Nintendo, who know what it means to fulfill a consumer desire and get paid for it.

The consumer isn't stupid -- the consumer is what pays your bills. It is a bit ironic to hear the Stallies disdain the "lusers", then in the same breath argue that developers should get paid on an hourly basis. Methinks they do protest too much...
