Microsoft is considering changing the name of Windows NT to Windows 2000. (http://www.infoworld.com/cgi-bin/displayStory.pl?981010.ehntname.htm) I'm wondering if this such a smart move. It may prove to sink Microsoft when Jan. 1, 2000 rolls around and half of the world's computers crash. The OS most likely associated with this expected phenomenon will be the one with the closest name. It's word association folks, a commonly known aspect of marketing. Remember that even 14 months from now, the majority of the folks out there will still not be computer-savvy and not fully understand the complexities of the Y2K bug. When panic ensues, Windows 2000 may just become the scapegoat for the biggest problem our country has had to face since wet cigars.Cameron Barrett http://www.camworld.com
