I thought the Sun/Microsoft case was not so much about what Microsoft or anyone can or can't ADD to Java, but what Microsoft has *subtracted* from their implementation -- namely RMI... perhaps there's other libraries that haven't been included also, I don't know. That's what everyone is up at arms about -- that a Java Programmer can't take full advantage of the Java 1.1 feature-set and have it work under the MS VM.
