We've been over this in great detail. If we were to keep mod dates around for every object, including scalars, the databases would bloat. Now someone will say "make it a preference" but at some point it becomes ridiculous.I want to have documents flow in and out of the system. That suggests presenting a document-like interface to collaborators, hiding the fact that it's implemented in the object database. Our view is that the raw unvarnished obb is for programmers, and that WebEdit works great for that kind of stuff. And that the view to present to writers should be much higher level and simpler.
