I don't know how the original questioner would use the search engine, but here's a concrete example of a non-Frontier site: I've got a bunch of keywords set at http://customnews.cnn.com that quite often give me nothing, and in other cases several different keywords bring up the same article.Next couple of free hours I get I plan on writing a script that will jump through the appropriate hoops to do the searches (I've got to send some weird cookies), apply some more rules to the results, and give me a list.
I can easily see wanting to do similar things to Scripting News, certainly it'd be nice to build a simple system to automatically cull through this discussion group on the server side, without my having to download all of the text.
