Macintosh has something much more powerful than Active Script Control, called the Open Scripting Architecture. Frontier fully supports it, I'm sure you're aware of that.

Re your question about Perl, yes, the dream is still alive. I don't make statements like that casually. About it being cross-platform, I'll let you know. Some things will be cross-platform, others won't. Usually, when it's not cross-platform it's because one OS has a feature and the other doesn't.
