Trying to do something similar, I was trying to access http://discuss.userland.com/$1999/01/29 but it won't display in NS 4.5. I've experienced this before with other discuss.userland.com listing pages which have lots of messages. It downloads only part of the page and then gives up. This is a consistent behavior.

I know Dave need not do this, but if archived messages used the "Discuss" part of the "Discuss: Message Subject Here" link to connect to messages for the same day that would make my catching up easier.
