Dave - you have GOT to look into building some kind of open spec for sites to live as "channels" in other sites. Is this "syndication"?

Yes, that is syndication. Isn't that what Netscape is doing in my.netscape.com? Why do you think I should start building the spec? I'm sure I could but don't you think the industry is too chaotic?
