As is so often the case under unix, none of the methods are 'more' right. It's a matter of taste. And this is the major hurdle to make everyday desktop users switch to Linux.In the short term, Linux has no hope of capturing ordinary desktop users. But a nice GUI makes life easy for server admins, and renders one of NT's more powerful sales tools less effective.
(In the long run, I think Linux will do fairly well across the globe. There's a lot of people out there who need to buy computers, and countries other than the US hate to be spending so much hard currency on software from abroad.)
