Jim,FWIW, I would recommend Yellow Dox Linux, as it's essentially Red Hat Linux--arguably the best-supported, most popular Linux distribution--for PowerPC-based Macs, including the iMac and G3 PowerMacs, which are lagging in support both from MkLinux and LinuxPPC.
