I could promise these folks they would be able to manage content submitted by multiple authors (ideally through a web interface) and rendered to our UNIX platforms.Dude! You can do that right now!
I've explained this here on the DG what feels like countless times.
Here's your multi-user web-based interface. It's right at the bottom of this page. Your scripts can grab the text out of discuss.root, thru the API we provide or directly, and flow it out thru the website framework to any kind of server.
This may not be what Jim wants, probably isn't, but if your requirement is as simple as you say it is, we're there right now.
