Quite correct. Just look at, for example, Steve Jobs and Apple.

If we take the testimony Apple provided at the MS/DOJ trial seriously, Microsoft not once but twice tried to shake Apple down. But does Steve go out at Macworld SF and criticize MS? No! He has Ben Waldman on stage and does everything to minimize the dispute.

Meanwhile, Apple keeps making great products and taking care of business, and is still kicking. That's they way to survive an MS onslaught; take care of customers, give them great products, and kill Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer with kindness, because if you have them making products for your customers they are on your side in a way...
