Does anyone really use more than what is available in Abiword;

Its standard file format is XML. http://www.abisource.com/dev_faq.phtml#2.1

Wouldnt that make its documents directly accessible from the XML-RPC structure; ie not even a conversion to html just parse and display.

I done have anything to do with abisource but simple seems better here much like XML-RPC.
