If I'm logged is as Name

How do you know that you are logged in? Does the navigation bar at the top of the page include a New Topic link?

Where should I look if this isn't the case?

This is most likely an issue with the cookie domain. What is the value of default.cookieDomain in members.root?

Can you view the cookies stored by your web-browser?

What URL are you using to access the msgReader page that doesn't allow you to edit the message?
