I tried that and the channel names are very long in some cases, and esp when they're using "skinny" format, tend to dominate the links. I did implement a compromise, if your browser handles the TITLE attribute on anchor tags, if you hover the mouse over the channel number you'll see the channel title and its description. That's the best I can do right now unless someone has a better idea.
