I put together a very rough demo in Director- reading the exact same XML as Prefs.Userland.Com (pre "Appearance" and "Talent Search"). Director reads the XML file and generates the interface. Could be used as a Shockwave front-end to any prefs.root-compatible website. Here's a screenshot.
