You could also check the document referrer information from the web server, and redirect people to the front page if they didn't start from the "right" place. You would proabably want to set up all kinds of nested dependencies for sub-directories and so on.

If you do it server-side, you don't have to worry about whether or not cookies or javascript are enabled.
