It's an appeals court decision (http://www.epic.org/privacy/consumer/USWest_v_FCC.html) in the 10th Circuit, regarding US West, and it's horrendous. It essentially says phone companies can sell information on the location, duration, and frequency of their customers' calls -- without customers' permission.There are some chilling lines in the opinion, such as: "Although we may feel uncomfortable knowing that our personal information is circulating in the world, we live in an open society where information may pass freely."
Apparently, if this holds up on appeal, including your phone records...
