Yes sir, XML-RPC for dmoz.org would nail it.

Then our crawler script could update the DMOZ listing for a channel without any user interaction. When you change your channel description in your RSS file, in the next hourly scan we would detect the change and notify DMOZ.

There may be a way to flip it. DMOZ makes their source available, so we could operate a server, and accept updates here. I guess I'm confused. When I download their huge file and operate a compatible server, how do I get updates from them?
