That is how USAT should have made their point, correctly. Instead they obfuscate things with their apples to oranges comparison.

And most articles ignore administration costs. For the average server, who cares if you spend $500 bucks on an operating system? The real costs show up in ease-of-use, reliability and the available tools.

Linux is a wonderful choice if want Apache, Perl and Samba. But if you want IIS and MS Dev Studio, you need to run NT.

I'm a huge Linux fan, but I'm getting sick of these simplistic, pro-Linux comparisons.
