I've been trying to get the consulting company I work for to do just that, but there's a lot of resistance to that idea. "Time better spent on billable hours than documentation of process"

Personally I think that's baloney, the documentation of the process would be valuable not only to my colleagues to learn from our successes and failures, but ultimately even to our customers who don't have a clue how this kind of work actually gets done and what obstacles are encountered.
