Heh, the code I was working on from home on my windows laptop using pr1 seems to disagree with my latest build here on my mac at work. I'm starting over and getting it done right - here's the concept:

Create an overlay which in some way inspects the current page and draws from it it "capabilites" in terms of manila-editable features. These show up in the dropdown menu, without you having to configure it, plus as the feature list expands, this menu woudl as well.
