My understanding is Zope is itself a server. I want to use Apache and be able to embed Python code in the HTML page like what you do with PHP or ASP.

Zope is a collection of tools. You can run Zope behind Apache.

If you want to embed Python in HTML you should look at PMZ or Poor Man's Zope. http://pmz.sourceforge.net/
