We went through all this michegas in the software business when copy protection came off. We had to learn to trust the users and let the chips fall where they may. The music industry is now where we were 15 years ago. They can't go back to the way things were, this isn't Kansas anymore. And if we want music we have to find a way to flow cash to the musicians.

IMHO the solution is to give away the lo-res version and charge for the hi-res one. Everyone gets what they want. Just like software demos.
