If you've noticed, WebObjects is moving to be entirely Java 2 basedHow could I forget about WebObjects? The interoperability offered with WebObjects and its Java2-based architecture offers it enormous potential. The standard in this case being Java.
The Tigris apps look pretty interesting as well, also being Java-based, though server-side. These tools are primarily developer-oriented, but show the potential of the technology. The key is to develop a strong UI, a stable, fast and robust back-end, and a middleware layer that uses open standards and technologies.
