It's hardly and either/or situation - clearly there is room for both the 'a la carte' and the 'all you can eat' model to flourish, even within the same service.

I think the point is that in a world in which you can't prevent people from just getting the music for free, you need to think about ways of encouraging them to support the artists, and making it seductively easy for them to do so.
