It really does come off as pretty arrogant, especially since so few techies know anything about what it's like to be a professional musician.

It'd only be arrogant if the technies were forcing the musicians into these molds, rather then providing choices.

It's not the technies doing the forcing and being arrogant... well, just fill in the rest of the argument here.
