Re: Election Day on the DG
Author: Phil Wolff Posted: 11/8/2000; 5:41:38 AM Topic: Election Day on the DG Msg #: 21947 (In response to 21899) Prev/Next: 21946 / 21948 From Declan McCullagh <declan@well.com> of politechbot.com:
"Third parties in Florida made a difference. Libertarian Harry Browne won 15,609 votes, and the Green Party's Ralph Nader received 94,201 votes in the state. Nader occasionally claims that he lures voters who would not otherwise go to the polls. But if even one percent of Nader's voters had turned to Gore -- a certainty -- the presidential election would have turned out differently."
To see the results for yourself, here is the Florida Department of State, Division of Elections site:

Does anyone know of any other states where third party voters affected the outcome? Where votes cast were greater than the margin of victory?
