You should probably stick with META tags for right now. XML is a language for defining other markup languages - so another way of thinking of this is is there a way in which you wished you could organize your information - which could then be expressed as an XML tagset. Once it's in XML (no matter what the tags) it could then get converted to HTML, sent to other sites, etc. etc.
