Your discussion group messages should be indexed anyway. If you have an alsoListedIn field, they get indexed as part off additional sites as well. In other words, a discussion group messages can appear as part of multiple sites.

In discuss.root, in the prefs table for this discussion group, do you have an adrMsgReader field pointing to the address of the msgReader page for your discussion group?
