Wasn't there an open cable box law proposed? Did it pass.

People could buy thier own cable boxes, rather than rent them at absurd prices.

I agree, Why not put a card in an old pentium box, and convert it to your cable box.

The register has a good article, 5 billion of a non-exclusive license to put CE on 5 million cable boxes. Humm, CE is more expensive than 98.
