Well, at least the governement has it right this time. You will be able to buy and not be required to rent a box for the cable provider.

Now the big question is do the cable companies skirt the rules by saying these apply to the tv signals only, if you want the web, you need to use our boxes only.

Or is MS banking on that people will lease the phone from the phone company, and but it from not best buy?
