Even if you can't get it to import as binary, it's a simple script that changes it to a binary and sets its binarytype so othat Frontier will serve it as you want to.

Suppose your object is stored at scratchpad.pdfdoc..

scratchpad.pdfdoc = binary (scratchpad.pdfdoc)
setBinaryType (@scratchpad.pdfdoc, 'PDF ')

That should do it.
