If you're going to be running 30 Servers do you really need more than 10 connections each? You could set them up to all answer requests on the same IP address

Not unless you use some sort of redirector (either a forward proxy like Squid or something like Cisco LocalDirector), which adds more cost and complexity, especially if any dynamic data is involved.
