It seems to me that the combination of the favorites selections and the newstories page make a pretty good custom weblog.

in fact, this combination may obviate the need to group the headlines by hour so that each page is a days worth of myweblog.userland.com ;-)

another interesting option might be to allow sorting of headlines by date or source.
