I don't think it will go over well with red-blooded frat boys either. The Powerbook was a reasonably manly-looking machine, it looked good in Mission Impossible, but somehow I can't picture an iBook in the movie. Maybe it'll show up in the next Julia Roberts flick.

I'd be interested in what part of your Gassee piece they objected to. Was it the Chinese household bit? Funny how the PC crowd trumpets diversity but can't stomach cultures with different values from their own. (And with a degree in anthropology, I can tell you that most cultures aren't very PC...)
