My theory: it wasn't an apple but a tomato that the serpent enticed Eve into sampling

Tomatoes are "Love apples" which leads to the interesting consequence of hotels in Japan called "The Tomato Hotel" -- these are what is known as "love hotels" where people can go for some private time away from the ultra thin walls of home!
