For my organization's purposes, Frontier seems like the clear choice between the two, but LDAP authentication is a fairly important criterion for acceptance. Is any effort being made by UserLand or a third party to add LDAP support to Frontier?

In Windows, you can do LDAP authentication in Frontier by calling VBScripts which use ADSI. I think you would do this with a membership callback.
